Prokofiev War Sonatas
FREDERIC CHIU Pianist
A look at the “War Sonatas” of Prokofiev with a
performance of Nos. 6 and 7.
Frederic Chiu has recorded the Prokofiev Sonatas
(complete) for Harmonia Mundi. His virtuosity and elegant
pianism have caused critics to name him the inheritor of
Godowsky and Rachmaninoff, the leading representative of
the younger generation. He will bring his own perspective
to the discussion and performance of these great works.

A celebration of 3 generations of
pianists stemming from the masterful pianism of world
renowned artist Abbey Simon and his pianistic off-spring ,
Karen Shaw and Frederic Chiu. The program will include
specialty solo selections by each pianist as well as the
three in ensemble.
